Canada suffers shock economic contraction, casting shadow over recovery

Early stats don’t support a raging recovery. Stats Can reports a household savings rate is up 14.2% vs. 13% in the previous quarter. I believe a dollar figure would be better as it will give a clearer indication of how long a household can pay its bills if we go into a downturn.
